How to Configure User Registration
User Registration allows you to control how users sign up for your platform. You can choose whether registrations require administrator approval, enable CAPTCHA verification, restrict signups to specific email domains, display Terms & Conditions, and create custom registration fields to collect additional information during signup.
This guide explains how to configure registration settings and create custom registration fields.
Step 1: Open User Registration Settings
From the left navigation menu, click 'Global Settings' and select 'User Registration'.
Configure Registration Settings
Step 2: Configure Registration Options
The 'User Registration' tab contains several settings that control the registration experience.
Enable CAPTCHA
Turn on 'CAPTCHA' to require users to complete Cloudflare Turnstile verification before creating an account.
Choose a Registration Method
Select one of the available registration methods:
From backend admin – Only administrators can create user accounts.
Allow self-registration (no approval from admin) – Users can create accounts and access the platform immediately.
Allow self-registration (needs approval from admin) – Users can register, but an administrator must approve the account before access is granted.
Restrict Registrations by Email Domain (Optional)
Enable 'Domain Restriction' to allow registrations only from specific email domains. Enter the domain(s) you want to allow in the field (for example, company.com).
Display Terms and Conditions
Turn on 'Enable Terms' to require users to accept your Terms and Conditions during registration, and enable 'Disable editing custom registration fields after signup' to prevent users from modifying the information they provided after creating their account.
Create Custom Registration Fields
Custom registration fields allow you to collect additional information during user signup.
Step 3: Add a Custom Registration Field
Click the 'Custom Registration Fields' tab. Click 'Add Custom Signup Field'.
Select the type of field you want to create:
Text Box – Allows users to enter free text.
Dropdown List – Lets users choose from predefined options.
Checkbox – Allows users to confirm or agree to a statement.
Step 4: Configure the Field
Select the 'Field Type', enter the 'Label', 'Help Text', and check the boxes if needed. After entering the required information, click 'Save'.
Manage Existing Fields
From the Custom Registration Fields page, you can 'Edit' or 'Delete' existing custom fields as needed.
With your registration settings in place, new users can sign up according to your organization's requirements. You can return to the User Registration page at any time to modify registration methods, update custom fields, or adjust security settings as your needs evolve.
